Create a QR code that still scans after you print it
Choose a stable destination, preserve the white margin, and test the downloaded QR at the size and distance people will actually use.
Finalize the destination before generating
For a website, enter the complete intended address, including https://. Open it yourself first and check that it reaches the right page without requiring an unexpected login. Remove accidental spaces copied from a document and avoid unnecessary query parameters that make a longer code.
KitForma creates a static code containing the text you provide. It does not operate a dynamic redirect service or change an already downloaded code’s destination. If the address may change later, use a stable page you control and maintain that page; printing a code does not keep its destination online.
Use the available export choices
Open the QR generator, enter the content and choose a dark foreground color. KitForma uses a white background, a four-module margin and error-correction level M. Its text field accepts up to 1,500 characters, but actual QR capacity also depends on the encoded content.
Choose a 512, 1024 or 2048 pixel PNG, or download SVG for a design workflow that supports vector files. SVG can scale cleanly, but the surrounding layout still needs to preserve the square proportions and empty margin.
- Generate the preview and download the chosen format.
- Place the file without stretching it horizontally or vertically.
- Keep the full white margin when cropping or positioning the design.
Leave clear space around the symbol
DENSO WAVE specifies a four-module quiet zone around a QR code. A module is one of the small square units in the symbol, not a fixed number of page pixels. KitForma adds that margin; removing it in an image editor can make scanning less reliable.
Do not place text, decorative frames or a logo over the code. The generator does not provide a logo-safe layout or calculate a guaranteed print size for your use. More encoded content usually creates a denser symbol, so a long address can become difficult to use when squeezed into a small label.
Test where the code will be used
Print one sample at the intended size before ordering a batch. Scan it with more than one phone, in realistic lighting and from the expected distance. For a poster, test the poster layout; for a business card, test the small printed card rather than a large on-screen preview.
Verify the page that opens, not just whether the camera recognizes a code. Check mobile navigation and the final destination after any redirects. A working scan that opens an obsolete offer or the wrong language page still fails the visitor’s task.
Proof check: scan → inspect the address → open the page → complete the intended action.
Repeat after changing the QR size, placement or destination.Keep the destination useful after launch
Save the exact encoded text alongside the downloaded image. That record helps when you need to reproduce a code or identify which printed version contains which address. KitForma does not provide scan analytics, managed short links or expiry controls.
If you use tracking parameters, avoid putting personal details or secret tokens in the address. Anyone who scans the code can read its contents. Schedule your own checks of the destination when the material stays in circulation, especially after a website redesign or a campaign ends.
