Site migration damage map
Compare bounded crawl evidence for old and new URLs.
Map up to 20 old/new URL pairs. To measure redirects, HTTP status, canonical and noindex without unsafe server proxying, run our readable, dependency-free scanner locally with Node.js 20+. It pins validated public DNS addresses on every redirect, rejects private/metadata networks and limits response sizes, timeouts and rate. No new account or key is needed.
- Save the mapping and scanner in the same folder. Node.js is required on your computer.
- Open a terminal in that folder and run:
node migration-scanner.mjs migration-map.json migration-report.json --authorized
- Import the generated report below. Use Ctrl+C to cancel the scanner. Only explicitly listed URLs are requested (maximum 40 pages, one request at a time).
Scope: HTTP response HTML and headers, no JavaScript rendering, login or full-site discovery. Robots meta and X-Robots-Tag are measured; robots.txt disallow is not a noindex directive. Redirects: maximum 4, response: 1 MB, request timeout: 8 seconds. HTTPS is recommended.
How it works
- Review your inputs and the supported scope.
- Set constraints, run the operation and inspect the evidence.
- Reopen downloaded output before using it.
Example & practical use
Enter your own files or measurements; review the computed result and its stated limits.
